Supporting you to support your patients
This page is for GPs, surgeons, specialists, and other health professionals referring patients to Riverina Hand Therapy.
Here you'll find referral guides, patient resources, and everything you need to make the referral process straightforward.
How to refer
For most hand therapy appointments, a formal referral is not required — patients can self-refer. However, a referral or care plan is needed for Medicare Chronic Disease Management, DVA, and WorkCover claims.
If you're unsure, call us and we'll sort it out.
Referrals can be sent by email or phone.

For acute fractures, post-surgical patients, and tendon injuries,
please call us directly — we keep spaces available for urgent referrals.

Helpful tips for diagnosing and referring
We don't expect you to know everything about hand therapy — that's our job. Instead, we want you to feel confident with talking to clients about their symptoms and making a plan with them. We are here to help with diagnosing and lots of experience doing this every day. You are free to download the below guides.
